CHARLES BAK CHOL WOL is a member of the Dinka tribe. He was born in southern Sudan where he was a medical assistant. Charles lived in Egypt for two-and-a-half years before arriving in Australia in 2003 and has worked for the welfare support agency Centrelink as an interpreter. He is active in his church, works with people in a nursing home and enjoys the many different foods and cultures available in Australia. Charles currently studies English at Blacktown TAFE. He plans to obtain a medical degree and is hoping to go to university in 2011.

… whenever I came to Blacktown area, I found that people are lovely … everybody is special to each other and that’s what we want.

My long term program is to achieve something … my goal is to get a certificate from an Australian university.
