About Belongings
Belongings tells the stories of migrants who arrived in the decades after the Second World War through personal mementos, photographs and memories.
The oral history interviews appearing in Belongings have been edited by Andrea Fernandes, Project Co-ordinator, for reader clarity and web exhibition page brevity. Original recordings, and in some cases full transcriptions, are retained by the NSW Migration Heritage Centre for research reference. The Belongings website and its interviews are protected by copyright law and the Centre protects the privacy of Belongings participants.
Many of the records in Belongings were researched by the Migration Heritage Centre through partnership projects. The Centre will be adding more stories to Belongings to reflect the diverse experiences of migrating to Australia and settling in NSW.
