Rani Khuman nee Siyali arrived in Australia in September 1963 from India to further her Library Science studies at the University of New South Wales. She joined her two brothers who had come to Australia in the 1950s.

Kalyan Ram arrived in Australia on 29th September 1970 from New Delhi, India to establish an office for the State Trading Corporation of India.

Vasant Sheth arrived in Australia on 6th July 1959 from Bombay, India (now Mumbai) with her 18 month son, to meet her husband who was working for the New India Insurance Company.

Sardool Singh arrived in Australia in June 1954 from Amritsar, India to work at the Department of Zoology at the University of Sydney.

Devi Bala arrived in Australia in September 1972 from Jaffna, Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) with her three children, to join her husband who had come earlier that year.

Khalid Sager arrived in Australia on 18th February 1995 from Qatar with his wife and seven children. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan and came seeking better educational opportunities for his children.

Sid Varma arrived in Australia in 1983 from New Delhi, India to live with his daughter’s family in retirement. Instead he established a successful business importing Indian products and at 97 years of age he continues to be involved with the business.

Ranjana Pradhan arrived in Australia on 24 June 1999 from Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India to be with her son and his family. She is a highly acclaimed specialist of the jaltarang, a rare musical instrument of Indian origin, comprised of ceramic bowls tuned with water.
