I was adopted from Saigon to Sydney in 1972. For the past couple of years I have been driving an online community project on the superhighway connecting people on the Internet that have an interest in adoption from Vietnam and cross cultural heritage at www.adoptedvietnamese.org.
Australians are very connected and a lot of adopted Vietnamese from the Vietnam War are now online and sharing the richness of their experiences globally through web technology. I will visit the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US in May 2002 to further explore the international, latest technical and social potential of this new media and then hope to return to Vietnam again to measure current limitations and any new improvements that are closing the digital divide.
