"I was a girl guide for a long time, from primary school, [and] continued on as assistant scout master for the cubs. When I left Hong Kong the boy scout group gave me this little statue as a bon voyage [gift]. It's got my name there, "Helen Sham". I've kept this statue for over 45 years [and] am still very active with Lions, girl guides, boy scouts. Reflecting now, I think my girl guide training gave me the community spirit and confidence in being a leader."
