Ferdi Boers brought his clarinet with him when he came to Australia from Holland in 1949. He joined the Orange City Band, switching to cornet, but he and his father Joe also played popular music at dances, teaming up with other musicians from Australia and overseas. Their band The Skymasters was in great demand at functions.
