Apron woven 1957, Meseista, Ohrid

Gulapka's mother made her this apron to wear for special occasions. This was the tradition in her family and Gulapka's grandmother had done the same for her daughter. The pattern of white, black and pink stripes is created by changing the colour of the weft threads in a sequence.

Height: 61.5 cm, width: 58.5 cm, loom width: 32 cm; Cotton warp, cotton and woollen weft.
